English translations by Michael Lombardi-Nash
As we have already reported here, Michael Lombardi-Nash has become something of a US branch of the Magnus Hirschfeld Society. The American with Italian-Scottish roots has been translating from German into English for over four decades, ever since he spent a year abroad in Germany as a student in the mid-1970s. Together with his then partner and later husband Paul Nash (1934–2010), he established “Urania Manuscripts”, which to this day has published numerous translations of early German-language writings from the homosexual movement of over 100 years ago.
For some time, Michael Lombardi-Nash has been donating a copy of his translations to the ONE Archives at the University of Southern California and the Magnus Hirschfeld Society. That way, at least two copies exist, one on each side of the Atlantic Ocean. At the end of January, we received another large shipment of Michael Lombardi-Nash’s works. Now only a few issues are missing before the Annuals of Sexual Intermediaries are completely available in English. We are very pleased about the voluminous addition to our collection and wish Michael Lombardi-Nash continued enthusiasm and joy in his work!
